Maine Repertory Theater, home to The American Chamber of Comedy focuses on original comedy, with improvisation as well as stand-up, sketch comedy, dinner theater mysteries, celebrity toasts, comedy festivals, poetry slams, the occasional published piece, and more.

MRT and The Chamber of Comedy is a talented family-friendly group that brings people together instead of dividing them. Another significant difference is MRT’s mission to “Support the Community with Laughter and Love.”  In 2019, we dedicated 100% of individual show ticket sales to, partnered with, or raised money for:

·         Jessica Brown, her partner, and their four children who lost everything in a house fire.

·         Brandon Johnson, diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

·         “Jammin’ for Josh”, a young man battling testicular cancer.

·         “Masons Mission”, representing a young boy from Kennebunkport born with several

           debilitating health issues.

·         Collected and delivered more than one ton of donated food to local pantries.

·         Heart of Biddeford, Habitat for Humanity, Volunteers of America, Spurwink, STRIVE,

          Project Sunrise, and Caring Unlimited.

Heck, we even donated to another improv theater up in Portland after they suffered a break-in and robbery.

One month of rent and utilities for MRT costs us roughly $3,000.00. Our new doors cost us more than $4,000.00.  (Yes we had to pay for the doors!)  We had some great sponsors last year and look forward to partnering with them again. Our goal was, and remains, to break even after the second season. To do that, we ask for your assistance and attendance.

If this letter has piqued your interest in helping us out, then please call me at (207) 205-6201, or drop me an email at mainerepertorytheater@gmail.com and I will most certainly be in touch with you shortly to discuss the various sponsorship levels we offer.  You will find they are very reasonable, and each level contains complimentary tickets and attractive discounts for private, sold houses as well as for renting our theater for other purposes.

On behalf of all of us at MRT and The American Chamber of Comedy, thank you for making our first year such a success.  Thank you for making the incredibly challenging times the families we listed above a little bit easier.  Just by attending our performances you helped them.  And by your continued love and support of MRT we can continue to do the work we feel called to do.

We look forward to your support and hearing you laugh during what remains of our 2020 season.

Kind Regards,
